Bedrock
Nov 2026 - Dec 2026
The Foundry, Cambridge, MA
A survey of the artist's work over the past five years, Bedrock presents Olivia’s foundation work in natural dyeing, yarn spinning, and garment design. Handmade textiles draw a direct connection between the body and nature. Within the basis of in-depth explorations in fiber, the artist offers handspun and naturally dyed yarn as objects in their own right, with form and weight. The exhibition collects the artist's work from a formative time post- college graduation allowing deeper introspection within textile making. Creating cloth from fiber naturally dyed with locally foraged plants extends the natural world onto the body. The body wears the landscape just as the landscape is the root of life.
My second solo show highlighting my foundations in Mapuche weaving and natural dyeing. The show took place in a collaborative workspace at the Foundry where various groups could engage with the work in different ways.
