I am a knitwear designer and yarn maker making yarn from fibers I spin and naturally dye with plants I forage for locally. My practice relies on place because my palette is determined by the dye plants I forage for around me and my designs are reflective of my surrounding landscape.

In my practice, I build relationships with local farmers, spinners, and natural dyers to create a network of people dedicated to sustainable regional wool work. I work within the community because I am committed to maintaining the circular economy between local farmers and fiber artists. It is important for me to work with local fleece and farmers to have a hands-on involvement with how our wool is grown and dyed and I share this knowledge in classes I teach.

Altogether, the work I do with local dye plants, sheep and farmers is an act of ongoing care for regional wool and the natural world.
